In The News..  Meta pushes back Facebook and Instagram messaging encryption
plans

The parent company of Facebook pushed back its plans to enable end-to-end
encryption as a default on Messenger and Instagram until 2023 (ZDnet)

WhatsApp, the company?s flagship messaging app, is the only Meta platform that
is based on Signal?s E2EE protocol.

The United States and Australia called on Meta to create backdoor access to
encrypted messages in 2019.
