Koodo is just a flanker brand of Telus.  Canada only has three major wireless
cell phone carriers.

Bell, Rogers and Telus each own "flanker" brands to appeal to different market
segments and to create the illusion of competition.

Rogers: Fido & Chatr
Telus: Koodo & Public Mobile
Bell: Virgin & Lucky Mobile

Whenever a fourth carrier tries to enter the space they get swallowed by one
of the big three.  Wind mobile tried to become a fourth national carrier & had
marginal success.  When their ownership came into question (as t
lecommunications companies need to be majority Canadian owned) they were sold
to Shaw who is now trying to be swallowed by Rogers.
