XPost: can.politics, ab.politics, bc.politics       XPost: ont.politics, sk.politics, man.politics       From: ConsRCons@govt.cda              There are already upwards of 18 foreign countries operating in the       tarsands of Alberta. Paying the paltry royalties that keep Albertans       happy that they 'STILL don't have a provincial sales tax'. Meanwhile,       their air, water, and land is quickly being destroyed in the excavation       for the dirty oil that so many countries want and need.              And Albertans think they're in the driver's seat. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯       ______________________________________________________________       By The Canadian Press — CP — Jan 17 2014              Minister says India wants Alberta energy                     EDMONTON - The government of Premier Alison Redford continues its trade       push into the lucrative Indian market, but it's nowhere near close yet       to a done deal.              India wants Alberta's energy, but International and Intergovernmental       Relations Minister Cal Dallas says new pipelines are key to getting it       to the world's fourth-largest energy consumer.              Speaking to reporters from Singapore where Alberta has opened its latest       trade office, Dallas says India is ready to do business.              He says Canada is considered the preferred supplier because of its       political stability and environmental sustainability, but port access is       a big barrier.              A recent McKinsey and Co. report says by 2030, India will have to meet       half of its energy demands through imports.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
