   Putin promised a great winter Olympic Games and boy, did he deliver!   
   Not only were the venues beautiful, but the competitors were thrilled   
   with the entire atmosphere of the games.  From start to finish, they   
   were worth watching.  And so far . . .  [knock on wood] . . . . they've   
   been SAFE, just as Putin promised they would be.   
      
   Canadian athletes did us proud, but it still was great to see Russia   
   take first place in the medals standing.  They came such a long way from   
   their Olympic standings  of the past 10 years or so, and they have a   
   whole lot to be proud of.   
      
   To those who dislke Quebec, you might want to note that that province   
   has produced some of our greatest athletes - and they proved themselves   
   to be proud Canadians at the top of the podium.   
      
   Nice, nice job, Russia.
