Sounds like your COMPRESS.CFG isn't set up correctly. Both Max and Squish use
COMPRESS.CFG; for my system, both Max and Squish use D:\SQUISH\SQUISH.CFG.
Are you running the DOS or OS/2 version of Max? If it's OS/2, you should be
using Info-Zip's OS/2-native version of ZIP and UNZIP.
Here's my section for COMPRESS.CFG on my system for Max/2:
Archiver ZIP
Extension ZIP
Ident 0,504b0304 ; "PK^c^d"
OS2 Add zip -9Dj %a %f ; store in uppercase
DOS Add pkzip -a %a %f
OS2 Extract unzip -qqnjC %a %f ; case insensitive extract
DOS Extract pkunzip -n %a %f
OS2 View unzip -v %a
DOS View pkzip -v %a
End Archiver
Also, real names are required in this echo. Thanks.
This setup has worked for over 20 years for me. :)
