I've thought Tim Ryan a centrist from an important swing state would be
a good choice but he's busy trying to get elected to the Senate this
year. Obama was a senator for four years before becoming president. A
few other senators throughout history have served four years before
becoming president but none in just two.

Trump is going to run if for no other reason than to "protect" himself
from the slew of criminal and civil lawsuits against him. Of course if
he doesn't win he's right back in the same boat.

At 77 in 2024 he wouldn't exactly be a spring chicken, and that big
frame and weight of his wouldn't help either.
