   Say for example someone opened up a daycare center using trademarked images of   
   McDonald's.  This would imply to customers that the center was operated or   
   sanctioned by the McDonald's corp, and I don't think McDonald's would like   
   that.   
      
   I am no lawyer, but given past litigation to protect trademarks used in very   
   unrelated ways, I don't think they're specific to lines of business.  I know   
   SEPTA would go after anyone who used their trademark.
