   Those rooms were small enough that the furniture therein which had   
   90-degree corners didn't fit well -- gaps and such.   
      
   Anyhow, we are pre-conditioned to expect 90-degree corners /   
   rectangular rooms.  Even the locally-famous "Flintstone House" near   
   San Francisco - hemispherical and cylindrical outside - has   
   rectangular rooms inside.  See:

   Exactly.  The market district and packing houses are long gone.  Even   
   the Federal Building at 641 Washington Street - where the NYC office   
   of the FCC used to hide - has been gutted inside and "repurposed" as   
   obscene-valued loft apartments.  After it was fumigated to get rid of   
   the resident rats, of course.  The "High Line" could have been used   
   for a commuter or light rail line.  Too late.
