   I think the seat pitch on Amfleet is about 40" but it's not directly   
   comparable since the seats are so much bigger.  I've always found them   
   comparable to domestic first class plane seats.

   They're pretty tight but it's not comparable, both because you can get   
   up and walk around at any time, and because nobody takes a seven hour   
   trip on the LIRR.  (Insert snark about poor schedule keeping here.)   
   The longest scheduled trips I see are about three hours from Jamaica   
   to Montauk. or 2:15 from Port Jervis to Hoboken.
