Compared to the original, it       does have a more "three dimensional feel" to it, more realistic. After       watching the new one and then the old one, the old one does seem dated. One thing the new film does is develop the       historical storyline better--the crash and deaths of the older kids that       inspired the dance restrictions.              I don't know how the respective versions performed at the box office.              P.S.
