From: dannyb@panix.com              I'm referring to the London definition of "subway" [a],       which is a pedestrian underpass/walkway that lets people       cross (under) the street so as to avoid the traffic.              I'm familiar with the one that's on Austin Street, underneath       Union Turnpike and the BQE, on the Forest Hills/Kew       Gardens border.              - There are quite a few that are associated with MTA subway       (as in The Subway) entrances, but I'm wondering about any       that are stand-alones.              Anyone know of any others? Thanks              [a] Which slightly changes the focus       of Petula Clark's song...       _____________________________________________________       Knowledge may be power, but communications is the key        dannyb@panix.com       [to foil spammers, my address has been double rot-13 encoded]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
