I'm sure someone here will know the answer to this:   
      
   When I go to my chorus rehearsal on Saturday morning, I often take the bus   
   along Myrtle Avenue to Richmond Hill. On many of the buses the back section is   
   raised two or three steps, and I enjoy sitting up there and having a different   
   view of the streets    
   and shops as we pass.   
      
   I'm sure the bus wasn't built that way for my pleasure. Could someone tell me   
   why it's designed that way? (I never see this on the articulated buses--they   
   are all on one level.)
