   In the mid 1950s I dated a girl who lived "on the Concourse" - it was   
   a nice, solid, neighborhood.  If it wasn't for her living there, I   
   never would have had the opportunity to spend any time in Da Bronnix.   
      
   But then again, so was East New York when I was growing up there in   
   the 1940-50s.  When I visited ENY last - 1983 - it was also burned out   
   and dilapidated.
