So I drove. I thought a drive would be interesting anyway, as it       would let me see parts of Brooklyn,        try out the infamous Interboro Pky, and be easier.              Driving was murder. Traffic in Brooklyn was jammed due to volume. The       Interboro Pky was ok, but I knew when they said "sharp curve slow down" they       meant it and I was prepared, even if the other motorists sped through it.              I think the Interboro Pky was originally planned to connect to the Vz Bridge       or Belt Pky, eliminating the local mess thorugh Brooklyn, but it was never       built.              At the Museum, there was a skateboard festival nearby and the parking lot was       filled.              On the way home, I took the Grand Central Pky to the Triborough Br, and then       somehow to the GWB. I luckily saw a tiny little sign to exit left for the GWB       connection. Was the naming of the "Grand Central Pky" a ripoff of Grand       Central Terminal? Why        was that particular parkway called "Grand"? Why was it "Central"?              There were a few places I would've liked to have stopped along the way to       check out a neighborhood, even get some photos, but there was no parking.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
