   Ah, that would make more sense.  But that means Q riders would still   
   need to transfer (same platform?) to the W to get to Whitehall, which is   
   suboptimal.   
      
   What about sending the Q to Whitehall and the W to Coney Island?  Or   
   would that mess up other services?

   Ah, now that I've checked the track maps, I can see that would be   
   impossible; to be fair, that area is a complete mess, track-wise.   
      
   I must have been thinking about the 8, but I'm not sure how I managed to   
   confuse that with the G; they have literally nothing in common.
