From: dannyb@panix.com              That's the new spy thriller, loosely based       on the capture, arrest, conviction, and       then.. trading of Russkie spy Col. Rudolph Abel       for US Weather Plane Pilot Gary Powers.              Since the Colonel was based in Brookln, and the       prosecution took place in Federal Court,       Eastern District of NY - namely what's       generally referred to as the Brooklyn       Federal Court House, there were lots of       scenes in that borough.              Including.. Tom Hanks riding the subway.       (Most scenes have it aboveground so we       see parts of Brooklyn in the background).              Anyway, this is taking place between 1957       and Feb, 1962              My question: the subway cars they were in       had fluorescent lighting.              Seems to me the movie jumped the gun       a bit on that one...              All the subway cars I remember being in       back in those days were incandescent.              Anyone see the movie who can comment?              Thanks       _____________________________________________________       Knowledge may be power, but communications is the key        dannyb@panix.com       [to foil spammers, my address has been double rot-13 encoded]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
