From: grammatim@verizon.net              I've had to use the Calatrava Stegosarus five times, I think, since the       main floor opened.              There are no straight paths from PATH -- which, after all, is what it's       supposed       to serve -- to anywhere.              The main floor turns out to be about three levels underground. Most       of the accesses to the street level are by sets of escalators -- that       only go partway up. Escalator-stair-escalator, or escalator-escalator-       stair. For Church Street, which ought to be the "front door," you can't even       see where the next       stage of ascent is, and the signage is lousy.              There are tiny elevators hidden in corners, again with no signage, and never       all working at the same visit.              The occasion for this rant is the opening of the old connection to the       E subway terminal, where they say they've preserved the original floor       and ramp and something else. There was a StoryCorps booth just outside the       station door. _That_ won't be back, I'm sure.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
