I got there just as       a worship meeting was letting out from a downstairs assembly room. I asked if       I could see the main sanctuary (Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill), and a gentleman       with a key took me up. I told him how different it is from the great historic       mosque in Acre, or Akko, which is far from austere. He said he'd like to visit       some day, but would he be allowed into Israel? US citizen? I asked, and he said       Certainly (I think his accent was Persian rather than Arabic), so I suggested       there should be no problem -- though if he wanted to visit a Muslim country,       the Israelis would be happy to put his passport stamp on a removable piece of       paper.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
