As mentioned in a previous thread the vehicles on the Stourbridge

Enterprises ran into financial problems doesn't mean all the various
companies closed down. Someone will hold the IP,

Ideas can be spun constantly for various ideas some more practical
   than others.
Solving the problem is easy technically ,the problem is that even
   cheap solutions are too expensive.
The really cheap solution of just obtaining 2nd hand mechanical era
tube trains just doesn't exist anymore and even that will not solve
   the infrastructure problems.

It really boils down to how government from local upwards answers
   questions such as
Is this line socially needed enough to justify millions of pounds
of tax revenue being spent on it?
   Yes or NO.

If Yes will you be willing to more tax or lose some other services?

Although it is slower if we said that going by bus and closing the
railway will mean we don't have to raise your tax and lose some other
services would that influence on whether you want to keep the
   railway?.
