   New Yorkers (and myself) don't know from A or B division.   
   We go by the route letter/number, route name (e.g. Lexington   
   Avenue Express), or IND/BMT/IRT.   
      
   A quick search of the NYT shows many references to IND/BMT/IRT,   
   as does the MTA's own website.   
      
   So, proper usage would be IND, BMT, IRT, not "A" or "B".
