   Much as I hate to admit it, the Electric Railroaders Association, the   
   primary transit railfan organization, uses the A and B designations in   
   their monthly Bulletin in spite of a large number of the members being   
   "old time NY subway nuts" like myself.  At one time they had a "New   
   York Division" which was very NYCTA-centric but it was merged into the   
   main organization a while back even though of the leadership came from   
   the NY Division and/or worked for the TA.
