   Yesterday I was walking down the stairs from the   
   Columbus Circle station to the 59th St. station,   
   and as sometimes happens, there were trains on   
   both the local and the express plaatforms. What   
   was unusual was that they were a B and a D respectively   
   -- the two trains need to merge onto the same track   
   on 53rd St.   
      
   The B left first. After a suitable wait, the D followed.   
      
   The annunciator then announced that a D train was   
   one minute away. Instead, an A train arrived, and I   
   continued on to the PABT without knowing when a   
   C or another B came along.
