   It is not free. We pay taxes. Also, from Brooklyn, it is impossible to   
   get anywhere without either going through Manhattan or an MTA bridge.   
      
   So there is that. The only abuse here is that the MTA thinks it should   
   have a monopoly on all travel in NYC... PERIOD.

   like NYC. If you had been to London you would know that.
