   The one at EWR isn't too bad. Whatever fare it charges is hidden in   
   the tickets for the NJT and Amtrak trains it connects to.   
      
   I gather that there was a legal quirk that made it impossible to use   
   airport money to pay for transport that wasn't entirely for the   
   airport, leading to Airtrains. That law is changed so I think that it   
   would now be legal to use LGA airport money to extend the N/W or to   
   build a Jackson Heights airtrain that wasn't limited to airport trips.   
      
   Fun fact: the EWR terminals already had cutouts for the airtrain   
   terminals. The original idea was to extend PATH to the airport. Now   
   the plan is to extend PATH to the train station so you still have to   
   take the airtrain..
