I got to use GCM over the weekend.

There are banks of either four or five escalators connecting the "Madison
Concourse" to the Train Platform Mezzanines. There is one bank under
each cross-street. The banks are under four of the cross streets. This
"Madison Concouse" runs under Madison, and connects to the Main Terminal
via the Dining Concourse or (eventually) the Biltmore Room.

It took me 7 minutes to walk from my train to the street. I was in the
front of my train, and used the southern most cross-street bank of
escalators. I did not shorten my trip by walking the escalaltor(s).
I just stood. But I do have a long stride. I exited via the TD Bank on
42nd and Madison. If I wanted the main waiting room or the IRT, I assume
it would have taken me another 5 minutes.

Pretty to look at, for sure. Hope it gets usage. As far as retail down
there goes, I assume anyone who takes a stab at it is going to be
challenged. It was very quiet and errie down there.

   Cheers!
