   ABarlow and Chom have patiently explained why the electric car is neither an   
   environmentally friendly option for reducing green-house gases as you claim   
   nor as commercially vialble alternatives as you my think...I'll only add   
   that movies and popular culture are rarely good sources for serious research   
   or thought...there are exceptions of course but this is not one of them...
