   All of the definitions refer to being "under water" or "underneath the   
   water".   
      
   The construction method term is "immersed sunken tube" for the process   
   whereby tunnel segments are laid in a trench dredged in the bottom of   
   the watercourse, and backfilled over with earth.  The end result is a   
   tunnel through earth under the floor of the watercourse, which is   
   conceptually similar to a shield-bored tunnel.
