   Ceri,

I would take an honest drunk as a premier (or priminister) before I took a
professional bureaucrat crook, liar cheat self serving greedy shyster
like --- Dion or Harpo and dozens of others. Trouble is with lawyers and
professional politicians is they spend far too many years on the how to lie
to win influence and truth maters little. In fact, truth is often viewed by
these people as a hindrance. Ultimately makes them pure corrupt and not
giving a damn about ordinary average working people.

Some of the best leaders come from rank and file society and have actually
had to work for a living at one point in time or another in their life.
John A McDonnald I believe was a drunken average type and so was George
Washington. You can bet their booze wasn't taxed at a rate of 70% and their
   transportation costs at 50%.

Ralph was a breath of fresh air to Alberta politics. He will be sadly
missed. But it is also why Ed won over Tim in Alberta, Tim smelled of
inside good buddy and unfortunately Ted was too right wing for some.

Growing pot to get a good start isn't a bad idea for someone young and not
much too loose. If you get away with it quit and become legit at 1 million.
If you get caught, 3 months in jail -- and try again -- society permits it.
Lawyers love it, and judges... well it is job security to have and tolerate
   crime.

As for spouse beating, I an vehemently against it be it man over women or
woman over man... far too many in Canada don't have to work but have the
energy to beat their spouses or children. Maybe the problem is many have
too much time on their hands? Society - including politicians over look
this as it is the spouse beater, and beaten persons vote they want and it is
less important the morality of it. I am sure there is a correlation between
government assistance and family abuse, not just poverty.

There are happy drunks, and Ralph was one. He even married not of his own
race, and is not a wife beater. The wife beating thing was seeded from
those corrupt as they were not getting their pig feed at the public trough.

I would pay $10,000 if all politicians were as half as honest as Ralph
   is/was.
