True to a minor point. But if the US, 9 times our population can put 20
non-stop ways from east to west, another 25 north to south, can we not have
1 east to west? The math says we should.

Last time I checked we don't run a sewer from Calary through Saskatewan,
Manitoba through Ontario. It is a liner expense based on population. In
the US, when you live in a place that you can see into someone elses
bathroom or kitchen, your in midlle-lower to poorer neighhood. Lot sizes
for middle class are generally twice the size of Canadian counterparts. So
our sewer lines, based on the linear foot should be cheaper but they are
   not.

If anything, when you get to someplace like California, they have to pump in
their water -- ship out their garbage. Worse than Toronto because it is
   larger.

Frost, how about heat. They don't melt in Alabama and are laser smooth.
But here is a hint, they do a lot more prep than run a bulldozer over it -
they engineer it. The US can build highways through swamp and can resist
buckling under heat and cold. Minnisota builds on swamp, eats the prarie
cold more so than BC built on rock but without the heaves. Just like
Northern Ontario 100 miles away (by the crow flies) but without the cracks,
turns, no traffic lights and stuff.

If we say LA, NY City, Miami, the mega bunch I would agree. The bigger a
city gets, the more poluted it becomes. But when the city is of comperable
size like Calgary to Milwaukee... nada. Too many Canadians have to cut
corners driving oil burning junk heaps as the $$ are not there to buy
something better. Milwaukee middle class lot sizes are about twice the size
   of Canadian class equilvelants.

Density is minor on Canadian/US scale. North Dakota right underneath it has
much lower taxes than comparable Saskatchewan, yet has less than 2/3rds the
   population.

You aught to take a two week vacation and travel the US, not LA, NY, Boston
and the like, might I suggest Minniapolis/St. Paul, Milwaukee, Madison,
Houston, Dallas, Home Arkansis, Vegas, Billings, Spokane, Portland, Denver,
Kentucky (anywhere), DC and others.... an eye opener. I won't say where the
Beverly Hillbillies should have come from... but suffice it is north of the
   45th and east.

Don't believe everything you see on NYPD, CSI or Sopranos... there is a lot
more to the US than that. Besides, Divinci Code is a CSI wanta-be.

Canada could be fantasitic, we just have to get a little more politically
   smarter.
