|    Harper/Flaherty budget - what a joke    |

XPost: ab.general, ab.politics, bc.politics       XPost: can.taxes, ont.politics       From: dave-no_spam@unixhome.net              Looks like Harpo and Flaherty are big NDP/socialist types keeping the big       government hype a going.              "A new $2,000 tax credit for each child younger than 18. The maximum benefit       under the plan will be $310 per child."              I guess single people will not be able to save money for a home so they can       have a family. This is turning our people into a hive, where single workers       go out and bust their hump making the honey while the rest consume it. I am       married, and will actually benefit from this but damn, it wasn't that long       ago I was single and my tax bill was higher than my mortgage+property       taxes+utilities.              Another pandering law. And I bet most who get it don't realize it was their       money in the first place.              "A Working Income Tax Benefit of up to $500 a year per low-income individual       or $1,000 per family to help reduce the number of people using welfare."              That's is nothing, if you want people off of welfare, eliminate the welfare       system and provide $1000 moving credit to a place you can get a job. Yep, a       job -- might be less spousal abuse too as they will not lay around with       nothing to do.              "Increased tax credits for Canadians whose spouses earn little or no income,       ending the so-called "marriage penalty."              What a cop out, every other nation has this and we get watered down       "credits". I guess they were to scared and dishonest to say no income       splitting.              "One of Flaherty's chief proposals is an extra $1.5 billion for the upcoming       fiscal year aimed at correcting the so-called "fiscal imbalance" - the claim       that the provinces are not getting their fair share of the money Ottawa       collects."              MORE equalization! WTF -- this is pay for screwing up. Right after sending       Charanta a billion of so in civic welfare money! There is no need for this.       Tell them to fix their issues and stop shirt tailing off of those that are       not screwing up.              Hey fellow Albertans, they are eying up your wealth. And Harper is a closet       NDPer. Time for a change, vote to get a party that represents workers, and       not as sheep for the fleecing.              My, Ottawa sure likes handing out OUR money.                                   a..              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
