   It's sad when the ISP's log and archive customer IP assignments for no   
   reason.   
      
   The ISP's are creating this legal tug of war over these IP   
   assignments.  They really don't need to keep a log of which customer   
   was given what IP address.  But because they do, then they have this   
   hot-potatoe that gets argued over in court.  If they didn't log   
   customer IP assignments, then there'd be nothing in court to fight   
   over.
