From: gordonbreen623@hotmail.com              Each time I write here I speak of sharing moments together.              To share a moment can be walking to a park.       To share a moment can be enjoying the taste of a hot chocolate       To share a moment can be playing a game of cards.              I speak of isolation that we as individuals create.              Isolation creates barriers, someone has told you that you can not do, say or       feel. In isolation you have found that you can not approach a person because       his/her skin is the wrong colour, he/she is the wrong heights, he/she is the       wrong weight, the reasons are many and the result is always the same you       remain isolated. Isolation need not be part of your life. Phone a friend,       write a letter, say hello to a stranger when walking to work. One act can       break isolation forever.              I speak of passion              To often I fear that when I speak on passion that intercourse is the first       thing that comes to mind. Passion envelops so much more. I find passion in       beauty. I find passion when I use all my senses. Vision, Touch, Hearing &       Smell, my hobby is photography. I will go to a park a find something that       arouses passion in me and then I will photograph it. Touching and being       touched can bring passion into my heart; to stroke a cat or dog or massage a       person all has the same results. The passion of touch is achieved. Hearing       the sounds of nature or music, or even the spoken word can bring passion in       my life. And we can not forget smell. The smell of a rose can bring back       memories of days gone by. Popcorn reminds me of a movie. The smells in ones       hairs can create images that only can be described as passion.              When you let me into your life I will bring to you adventure, passion,       friendship. How much is up to both of use. I point you toward the sky; I       will show you the water that touches the beach, together we will find       laughter, sadness and joy.              I leave you with two thoughts:              To hide a passion totally (or even to hide, more simply, its excess) is       inconceivable: not because the human subject is too weak, but because       passion is in essence made to be seen: the hiding must be seen: I want you       to know that I am hiding something from you, that is the active paradox I       must resolve: at one and the same time it must be known and not known: I       want you to know that I don't want to show my feelings: that is the message       I address to the other.       Roland Barthes (1915-80), French semiologist. A Lover's Discourse, "Dark       Glasses," sct. 2 (1977; tr. 1979).              What is passion? It is surely the becoming of a person. Are we not, for most       of our lives, marking time? Most of our being is at rest, unlived. In       passion, the body and the spirit seek expression outside of self. Passion is       all that is other from self. Sex is only interesting when it releases       passion. The more extreme and the more expressed that passion is, the more       unbearable does life seem without it. It reminds us that if passion dies or       is denied, we are partly dead and that soon, come what may, we will be       wholly so.       John Boorman (b. 1933), British filmmaker. Projections (ed. by John Boorman       and Walter Donohue, 1992), entry for 16 May 1991.                             Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services       ----------------------------------------------------------        ** SPEED ** RETENTION ** COMPLETION ** ANONYMITY **       ----------------------------------------------------------        http://www.usenet.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
