Case in point: I was looking for a "bookshelf" stereo system, a Sony MHC
GX99. In the US, Circuit City is selling this for $159.99US right now; the
highest US price I could find was $199.99. The best I could do in Kingston
was at Sears, $249 -- on sale! Regular price is $299. Now why is that? This
thing isn't made in Canada -or- the US. If I had a car, I'd drive across the
border and get one there. We're getting screwed by retailers here, and I
don't believe it's the fault of distributors. Interestingly, no shop I
phoned in the US would ship to Canada. It's almost like there's collusion
between the two countries to make us buy everything here at the higher
   price.
