The thing is a boycott won't help the rest of the current GM employees or
any of the other Big 3 workers.North America has already lost that battle
for the supremacy in car making and we are trying hard to hold on to what we
currently still have.It looks like within 5 years we won't have more than
half of the current Big 3 plants but the good side if that can be is
companies like Toyota are bringing plants here now so the production will be
shifting from one outfit to another and the asian carmakers will thrive. The
drawback initially will be for the workers with 20+ years seniority with the
Big 3 losing their jobs and having to restart at much lower wages after
having to relocate. For people that are familiar with the car industry,it is
a known fact that Canadian plants are some of the most productive and with
the lowest production cost in the world. The issue is not about wages and
benefits but due to other countries highly subsidizing their car production
and dumping their cars in North America while imposing high tariffs on our
   vehicles sold oversea.
