I want to work for GM. My blood runs Chevy orange and Pontiac blue, but
GM doesn't have an office in Winnipeg.

That said, the engine plant they're building in India is to service
Indian and Middle East markets. The truck plants that are being idled
in North America are because no one is buying trucks right now in North
   America.

GM is not innocent of offshoring and outsourcing and downsizing etc...
but they're no different than any other company. If you buy a brand new
Toyota assembled in Japan, where do you think the money goes?

And it's crap to buy an inferior product just because it was built in
   Canada.

I'd like to add that I own FIVE General Motors products, including the
ONLY new car I've ever bought. (a 2001 Trans Am.) I also can't believe
that they made crap like the Aztek.
