XPost: can.internet.highspeed       From: Some@Guy.com              A friend of mine gave me a first-hand account of a vehicle he saw       driving around his court yesterday.              It was a full-sized minivan with a few camera's mounted to it, but not       like the high, tripod-mounted camera that you typically see associated       with google streetview.              He talked to the guy driving it, and the driver said it wasn't google.       He said it had something to do with the city - some sort of "curb       survey". My friend came back with "another example of tax dollars at       work eh?" and the driver said - "not exactly" - so who knows what that       means.              Strange thing - the van had "twitter" posted on the side, as well as       some sort of "i-something" spashed across it. One of the cameras was       mounted low, like on the lower front or rear quarter-panel, as if it did       indeed have a good view of the curb.              So my question is - is there some sort of electronic / video / picture       street or curbside recording done by (or for) cities in SW-Ontario (or       maybe just London in particular) ?              Can't imagine why they'd be doing it now - with all the leaves and       debris falling on the road this time of year.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
