|    Credit-card processors - who do you use?    |

XPost: can.internet.highspeed, can.general       From: Some@Guy.com              We used some RBC facility when we needed to process the odd credit-card       payment up until maybe 2004, when we switched to Moneris (which is       partly owned by RBC). We do anywhere from 2 to 4 charges per month -       divided between Mastercard and Visa. The typical charge can range from       $500 to $5,000. It's always a telephone order - we never see the card.       99% of the time it's a US customer.              The fees that Moneris is charging is getting out of hand. $35/month       just to "rent" the keypad / swiper, $10 account fee, and now some bogus       $10 fee (each) for Visa and Mastercard. Their overhead is like 3% or       4%.              Anyone here have any experience with the other 5 or so major credit-card       processors that operate in Canada - or the dozen or so tier-2       processors? This whole industry is a scam if you as me.              I'm seriously looking at Paypal for this. $35 / month, no machine       needed, and a straight 2% to 3% overhead and 30 - 40 cents per       transaction.              Comments?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
