When friends moved to Bolton years ago I thought they'd get gouged to death
on gas, since smaller towns and anywhere not in the shadow of a distribution
centre tend to have higher prices. As it happens, however, half the market
in Bolton is (well, was at the time... don't know if it's still the same)
served by independent stations that try to underprice the big companies as
much as they can, forcing the big retail chains to charge less... often less
than they'd charge a few minutes down Highway 50 in Brampton.

I'm willing to bet it's not out of the goodness of Esso's, Shell's, or
Petro-Canada's hearts. There are at least two separate factors at play
here, since Gravenhurst is a long way from either Trenton or Deseronto
(which are more than a few miles apart themselves, too...)

The question is, does it have anything to do with high speed internet?
