While working as a supervisor in offices, I witnessed a considerable number of   
   women being sexually harassed by gay men. Here are two incidents.   
      
   Nancy was a friendly, attractive blond processing clerk in a financial   
   services office who had two children that she dropped off at daycare, on the   
   way to work. Charlie was a picky gay processing clerk who transferred in from   
   another office and talked to    
   all the women about current TV programs. There was an empty desk beside Nancy   
   and after several months, Charlie moved into it. One day Nancy stood up and   
   hollered from across the office that I had to get this guy away from her.   
      
   When I got them settled down and asked what this was all about, Nancy replied,   
   "Charlie slithered into this desk beside me saying that he was a gay and now   
   he wants to take over my husband's duties." Charlie defended himself by   
   blurting out, "I'm a bi!"    
   Charlie had to accept to move to a desk in the far corner of the office.   
      
   Gloria was a hard working new Canadian in a large NPO office. She had to deal   
   with the Heads of other departments, to get her work done. The Head of one of   
   the departments was a gay named Donald, who knew a smattering of her native   
   tongue. Donald became    
   friendly with Gloria by saying things in her native tongue. The office had a   
   flexible lunch hour and sometimes Gloria finished what she was doing, before   
   breaking for lunch.   
      
   One day several employees rushed into the lunch room and told me there was   
   trouble in my area. I arrived just in time to hear Donald say, "And what about   
   our baby? When do you and I get through to our baby? Gloria replied, "There is   
   no our baby! There's    
   only my baby with my husband."   
      
   I had a meeting with Donald and emphasized that Gloria reported to me and if   
   he had a problem with her, he should discuss it with me rather than with her.
