|    China's $1 Trillion Stimulus Spending    |
|    15 Jan 15 18:26:30    |
On January 06, 2015 China announced that it was accelerating 300       infrastructure projects that are valued at $1 trillion in an attempt to       maintain a 7% growth rate. The investment will be in seven industries       including oil and gas pipelines, health, clean        energy, transportation and mining.               This could be an opportunity for Canada to pick up the slack caused by falling       oil prices. Our manufactured goods might not be competitive Chinese brands,       but what about the materials that will go into making those brands. Federal       and provincial trade        departments should attempt to isolate niches for Canadian products whether       that be natural resources, food or even bottled water.              When our cousins in the US first began their stimulus spending several years       ago, the money could only be spend on goods or services originating in the US.       The government of Canada negotiated an exemption for Canada and this country       supplied many items        such as pre-assembled welded structural steel to architectural services.               JL 15-01-2015              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
