XPost: can.politics, bc.politics, ab.politics       XPost: mtl.general       From: *Oct.15.2015*@tweek.eu              March 10, 2015              Steven Blaney, Public Safety Minister in Harper government:              "If we click on the Internet, and a site is hosted in Canada, and       promotes jihadism and says: 'Kill all the infidels wherever they are       around the world', I believe it goes against Canadian values," said Blaney.              The minister compared jihadist declarations to Nazi propaganda, saying       "the Holocaust did not begin in the gas chambers, it began with words."              During his presentation to the Commons committee on Tuesday, Blaney said       terrorists have declared war on Canada because "they hate our society       they hate our values."       ______________________________              George W Bush:              "You know, one of my concerns was the farther we got away from September       the 11th, the more likely it would be that some in our country might not       think the enemy still existed. But they do. And they're nothing but a       bunch of cold-blooded killers. That's all they are. People in our       country wonder why, why would somebody hate America. It's because we       love freedom, that's why. We love the idea that free people can worship       and almighty God any way they so choose in America. We value the freedom       for people to speak their mind in this country. We value a free press.       We value freedom. And the more we value freedom, the more they hate us.       That's why. That's why the enemy still exists."- Speech at Louisville       Kentucky              "States like these [Iran, Iraq, North Korae], and their terrorist       allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the       world. By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a       grave and growing danger. They could provide these arms to terrorists,       giving them the means to match their hatred. They could attack our       allies or attempt to blackmail the United States. In any of these       cases, the price of indifference would be catastrophic." - State of the       Union 2002       ______________________________              See what Harper and his Cons are up to? They want all Canadians to       think that the jihadist war is about 'our values' being hated.                            Here's the reality:              Why do terrorists hate America enough to give up their lives in order to       deal the country such mortal blows? Of course it,s not America the       terrorists hate; it,s American foreign policy.              It's what the United States has done to the world in the past half       century -- all the violence, the bombings, the depleted uranium, the       cluster bombs, the assassinations, the promotion of torture, the       overthrow of governments, and more.              The terrorists -- whatever else they might be -- are also rational human       beings; which is to say that in their own minds they have a rational       justification for their actions. Most terrorists are people deeply       concerned by what they see as social, political or religious injustice       and hypocrisy, and the immediate grounds for their terrorism is often       retaliation for an action of the United States.              Most Americans find it difficult in the extreme to accept the       proposition that terrorist acts against the United States can be viewed       as revenge for Washington,s policies abroad. They believe that the US is       targeted because of its freedom, its democracy, its modernity, its       wealth, or just being part of the West.              But government officials know better. A Department of Defense study in       1997 concluded that: "Historical data show a strong correlation between       US involvement in international situations and an increase in terrorist       attacks against the United States." Former president Jimmy Carter, some       years after he left the White House, was unambiguous in his concordance       with such a sentiment: "We sent Marines into Lebanon and you only have       to go to Lebanon, to Syria or to Jordan to witness first-hand the       intense hatred among many people for the United States because we bombed       and shelled and unmercifully killed totally innocent villagers -- women       and children and farmers and housewives -- in those villages around       Beirut. ... As a result of that ... we became kind of a Satan in the       minds of those who are deeply resentful."              The terrorists responsible for the bombing of the World Trade Center in       1993 sent a letter to the New York Times which stated, in part: "We       declare our responsibility for the explosion on the mentioned building.        This action was done in response for the American political,       economical, and military support to Israel the state of terrorism and to       the rest of the dictator countries in the region."       ____________________________________________________________________              Transcript of Michael Zehaf-Bibeau's message: (minutes before he took       the life of a Canadian soldier and entered the Parliament buildings)              “To those who are involved and listen to this movie, this is in       retaliation for Afghanistan and because Harper wants to send his troops       to Iraq.               “So we are retaliating, the mujahedeen of this world. Canada’s       officially become one of our enemies by fighting and bombing us and       creating a lot of terror in our countries and killing us and killing our       innocents. So, just aiming to hit some soldiers just to show that       you’re not even safe in your own land, and you gotta be careful.               “So, may Allah accept from us. It’s a disgrace you guys have       forgotten God and have you let every indecency and things running your       land. We don’t, we don’t go for this. We are good people, righteous       people, believers of God and believing his law and his Prophets, peace       be upon them all. That’s my message to all of you in this, Inshallah,       we’ll not cease until you guys decide to be a peaceful country and stay       to your own and I-, and stop going to other countries and stop occupying       and killing the righteous of us who are trying to bring back religious       law in our countries.               “Thank you.”               Video here:       http://ottawacitizen.com/news/national/transcript-of-michael-zeh       f-bibeaus-final-message              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
