|    The Canadian Economy    |

Many people are making declarations concerning the Canadian Economy in       comparison to the US Economy as the Canada goes into election mode. In reality       this is like comparing apples to oranges. The US is one market as opposed to       ten markets. This didn't        just happen by coincidence. Americans have built a strong, competitive market       through many purposeful actions. Below are three examples.              The Federal Reserve performs functions similar to the Bank of Canada; however,       it doesn't live in Washington. The Federal Reserve is composed of 12 regional       Federal Reserve banks with only the Head Office being located in Washington.       Each regional bank        must report on at least 280 economic indicators in its region at least once a       month so that the US federal government has a clear, current picture of what       is happening in the US Economy. Businesses and organizations who fail to       report on the 280 economic        indicators to their regional FED are penalized.              One of the mandates of the Department of Trade and Commerce is to strengthen       and make the one market as efficient as possible by promoting competition. To       this end the Department has struck down thousands of state laws and       regulations which impede the        free flow of goods, services, capital and people in the US Market. In       addition, it has taken hundreds of state laws before the US Supreme Court and       had them declared unconstitutional because they impede interstate commerce.              Industry and Commerce in the US is regulated by a federal law called the       Uniform Commercial Code. The Code standardizes everything to do with trade and       commerce that happens within the US Market. For example, all 50 states must       use the same Bill of        Ladling and the same Warehouse Receipt for the transfer and storage of all       goods.              JL - 23-06-2015              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
