False Creek is a small cove on English Bay, which protrudes into the city of   
   Vancouver. Three ageing bridges span this inlet. They are not earthquake   
   proof.    
      
   The bridges will be very expensive to replace. There has been more than one   
   proposal to not rebuild these bridges, to drain and fill in False Creek the   
   same as moats around castles in Europe were drained, filled in and cities   
   built up to castle walls.    
   The dominant thought on redevelopment has been residential real estate;   
   however, there are several outside of the box proposals.   
      
   False Creek Ring Road   
      
   A False Creek Ring Road would be a two lane asphalt surface following the   
   perimeter of the current shoreline. This would provide easy access from one   
   part of the new neighbourhood to another and help maintain the integrity of   
   these new lands. Once a year    
   this artery could be converted into a race track for an event that has been   
   christened, The False Creek 500.   
      
   False Creek Studios   
      
   Some think it would be an excellent site for inner city film studios, which   
   would really put the city on the map as Hollywood North. This would be   
   Vancouver's answer to Pinewood Toronto Studios which is a modern,   
   purpose-built complex for film and    
   television production and is the destination facility for local and   
   international production in Toronto. These studios are situated on a 20 acre   
   site, minutes from downtown Toronto.   
      
   False Creek Driving Range   
      
   Another proposal has been a modern, double decker driving range in the heart   
   of the City. There are latterly thousands of people living in condo and   
   apartment towers within walking distance of False Creek. A modern driving   
   range would rely on a high net,    
   similar to a batter's cage, to stop golf balls from going anywhere.
