Tell us it could never happen . . . . first we have Andrew Scheer on the       federal front - suckled at one breast of Stephen Harper and now Jason Kenney,       who suckled on the other breast. A dictatorial leadership style? How could       that happen?       _______________________________       thestar - Fri., Jan. 4, 2019              Seventeen members of United Conservative Party constituency association resign       over failed ‘grassroots guarantee’              EDMONTON—Seventeen members of a United Conservative constituency association       in Calgary have resigned because of what the former president describes as       “dictatorial” leadership that betrays the party’s grassroots beginnings.              In a letter to party leadership Thursday, the president of the association for       Calgary-Falconridge blasts the party for not consulting with the association       enough, saying its members were left out of decisions about memberships and       nomination candidates,        prompting the mass exodus.              “Instead of grassroots participation, we have suffered from top-down       dictatorial behaviour on the part of party officials and employees,” writes       president Raman Seetal in the letter.              UCP Leader Jason Kenney has previously said that he wanted the direction of       the party to be fuelled by the grassroots members and not by party leadership,       calling it the “grassroots guarantee.”                     https://www.thestar.com/calgary/2019/01/04/seventeen-members-of-       nited-conservative-party-constituency-association-resign-over-fa       led-grassroots-guarantee.html              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
