From: cynicalbastard54@gmail.com              This isn't surprising at all. If you want proof of the failure of       private-for-profit health care, look no further that the Divided States of       America. If you can't afford it, tuff! This "mantra" from a country that       prides itself on being "the most        Christian country in the world". What bulls**t! I was in New Hampshire (the       New Hampshire state motto is "Live Free or die!") back in 2004 and got into a       discussion with a gentleman who owned his own company in Massachusetts but       lived in New Hampshire        because the good people of New Hampshire don't have that dirty thing called       taxes. They just charge you for everything you do. Want your garbage picked       up? They send you a bill. Want your streets plowed? They send you a bill.        Don't want to pay?        Then you do without. We got into a discussion about health care, and he       chastised me about our "stupid" socialist healthcare system. He defended the       U.S. system of pay for it or die. "Why should I have to pay for your health       care?" I asked him if he        was a Christian. He said of course he was. I asked him about the Christian       mantra that we should all be looking out for each other and we should be       taking care of each other. My question then was, "If you're such a Christian,       why would you feel that it'       s proper to let someone die because they had no insurance and couldn't afford       to get health care? I never got an answer. Then again, the "true" Christian       mantra, and American too, is that it's every man for himself, and survival of       the fittest (or        wealthiest). Christian nation indeed!              Long live Christopher Hitchens!               On Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 1:41:03 PM UTC-4, brewn...@gmail.com wrote:       > Impressive? You bet.
