Those of us who like to use modern hardware.  You'd be surprised at how 
quickly you can fill up disks when you're a file hub.

If you're talking OS/2 yes.  eCS and ArcaOS, not so much.   They can handle 
SMP and regular partitions for the most part.

There's a limit to how modern, however.  That's why I moved my BBS to Linux.

Something fun: someone has written a 16-bit OS/2 shell for Linux. :)
