It's not IBM, it's Microsoft.  M$ still owns a lot of the OS/2 code (and why
they chose to use it to create NT, et cetera).  From what I've heard from
IBM insiders--now this is going on the better part of twenty years ago but I
am safely assuming this is still true--M$ is afraid if OS/2 was open
sourced, they'd wind up getting an open-sourced OS/2-Windows hybrid that
they'd lose to. XD
