When my expensive, old, no longer available, high quality, without equal, 
trackball's LMB ceased to be reliable, I found it relatively easy to 
transplant the switch from an ancient $2 serial mouse to make my trackball 
work like new again. You might find a similar situation by opening up your 
KVM compatible mouse.
