If you're going to attempt using a different protocol, why not give SEXYZ a
try since it's probably the latest and greatest, as well as there being plenty
of documentation for it with command line routines?

Not sure how it works in regards to OS/2, but you may be able to use it in a
DOS window. I'm not sure if they stopped supporting 16bit and went strictly
32bit, but it may be worth looking into.
