   Los Angeles has recently had stage 4 smog alerts,nearly a shelter in   
   place rule), for the fist time in a decade. In ALL big cities the   
   pollution levels, the crime rate, and unemployment are on the rise.   
   You must wear some pretty hefty blinders if you fail to see this as a   
   national problem with local repercussions.
